There are many gold markets found worldwide. Some of the most popular precious metal trading markets are the New York Mercantile Exchange, Dubai, London Exchange, Zurich, Sydney, and Hong Kong. Below are the hours of operation and other relevant information.
Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX)
Trading is conducted in U.S Dollars at the New York Access Market. All times shown below are based on local New York time. The futures trading begins after hours using the NYMex electronic trading system.
Market Hours of Operation
Mon – Fri – 8:20-13:30 ET
Electronic trading – 18:00-17:15 ET
Sunday – 18:00- 17:15 ET
London Exchange
Trading is conducted using British Pounds Stirling. Precious metal prices are fixed twice daily (known as the London Fix) and are a reference for worldwide gold trading.
Market Hours of Operation
Daily 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
London Fixing – (twice daily) 10:30 AM and 3:00 PM.
Hong Kong
The Hong Kong market uses the 9th most traded currency in the world the Hong Kong Dollar. It is the trading hub for gold trading in Southeast Asia and the Far East.

Daily – 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM and from 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM.
Sydney
Trading on the Sydney floor begins immediately after the NY market closes and is still in operation when the Hong Kong market begins. The Australian Dollar is used for trading on the Sydney market. Gold prices are also shown in the Euro and U.S Dollar

Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange
Offering a favorable location between Europe and Asia’s time zones the Dubai Exchange began in 2005 and has since become the most popular derivatives exchange in the Middle East.
